What are the energy systems of the body?
We have rivers of
electrical currents coursing through our bodies picking up signals around us
and within us. These rivers of
energy are unseen to the natural eye, but we can feel them. For instance, have you ever felt
someone staring at you from behind only to turn and look at them and actually
catching them in the act! It’s
like having eyes in the back of your head!
One way the body
detects such experiences is through energy centers called Chakras. Chakras mean, “spinning wheel” and are
energy vortexes located along the spine.
There are seven major chakras that are multi-dimensional meaning they
extend out the front as well as the back. Each chakra governs certain regions
or functions of the body depending on where they are located. For example, the chakras located on the
head govern the pineal and pituitary glands in the brain.
Chakras are also
energy receptors and transmitters of our emotional, mental and spiritual levels
of our bodies and are meant to metabolize energy. We are energy beings or
spiritual beings as well as physical ones. It’s the energy part of us that is the transmitter and
recorder of all our thoughts and interactions.
Scientifically, how is
this explained? Since the chakras of the body not only take in and release
energy they transfer the energy to a super highway of electricity called
Meridians. They flow to the nervous
system which leads to the spine and, eventually, reach the brain. The brain
relays messages to the rest of the body by releasing hormones throughout the
body through the endocrine system.
The hormones are carried through the blood and then to receptor sites on
the cells. It’s the destructive
cellular memories within our bodies that create a disease or, on the other
hand, a feeling of wholeness. True
healing of any kind occurs at the cellular level.
Say, for instance, a
child grew up in a terrible home environment and chose to harbor anger and
resentment from the experiences he or she had. Those experiences along with the intense emotion are
recorded in the DNA of the cells of the body. Overtime the cells begin to resonate at a certain frequency
or disease and begin to manifest itself as a physical ailment. Therefore, each illness and each body
organ has its own frequency or vibrational pattern. The body is actually like a
story book or a self-help book ready to be opened and ingested. The body is saying, “Pay attention to
me! I am trying to tell you
something. The resentment and
anger you are holding onto are creating liver problems!” Only when the person
is listening to his or her body and willing to delve deep inside can the issue
be addressed.
Emotional Release
Recognizing what one
is feeling is a very important component to healing. Emotions are energy in motion! So, releasing emotions that fail to serve the person takes a
sincere desire to change that energy.
Some emotions are deeply embedded and continue to surface time and
again. Another key component is to replace those negative emotions with
positive ones so that the body is not left with a void but is filled with
positive thoughts and healing energy.
Many tools and healing modalities are available to teach how to reframe
the mind and let go of negative thought patterns. Our program offers awareness on how to do so and can be used
in conjunction with reflexology.
